A favourite within our parrot species here at Birds4U. Rainbow Lorikeets are adored for their exotic beauty and their bright, vibrant colours. Sporting deep blue faces and bellies, their red breasts and orange and yellow sides are stunning. They make a wonderful additions to any home or bird collection. For a small parrot however they have big personalities and are very intelligent. Rainbow Lorikeets enjoy playing as well interaction with humans. Avid chewers they need lots of toys to keep their mind and beaks active. One of the most colourful birds here at Birds4U they are friendly and talkative.
For very active birds, enclosures or cages should be large enough to allow them to exercise. In addition we stock a wide range of cages that are suitable for them in stock. A variety of perches and toys will keep them stimulated and allow them to play. Additionally, providing more exercise time, for instance out of cage time to explore and fly as well as the occasional chance to bathe will be beneficial in their care and help them thrive. This in turn prevents them from becoming bored easily.
Feeding
Fed on a diet of nectar and flower pollen, their brush like tongue is specially adapted to feed on these food. Importantly please avoid seeded diets and acidic fruit as this can damage their delicate tongue. Our lorikeets for sale are around 7-8 months old viewings are most welcome, we will always offer guidance and information to help you care for your pet.
